Welcome to Pennine View School
CEO Statement 22/05/2020
On Friday 22nd May 2020 Doncaster Council released a statement in which the mayor recommended Doncaster schools should not re-open from 1 June.
Whilst this might be confusing for families, we want to reassure you that we will be continuing with our wider opening plans from 1 June as already communicated.
We are continuing to follow the advice of the UK Government. Special schools have remained open throughout the lockdown, and we have only had site closures where low pupil numbers – due to family preference – have meant it’s not been viable to open a school site.
From 1 June, we will continue to increase our offer, and this same consistent approach is being taken by all schools in Nexus MAT.
Families do not have to send their children to school if that is their preference.
The Council still have a legal duty to provide home to school transport regardless, so please contact the School Transport Team at the Council if you have any questions about arrangements for your child.

We are extremely proud of the achievements of all our pupils and staff. Our school motto is ‘learn… enjoy… achieve’ and we encourage all members of our school community to set high standards in whatever they do and always strive to be the best they can be.
Pennine View School provides learning for 120 pupils across the Doncaster area and from our neighbouring local authorities. Each pupils needs are carefully and sensitively addressed, within the context of a well developed curriculum.
Pupils who join the school often have a wide range of different needs and they bring with them a wonderful mix of interests and personalities. Pupils begin their learning journey at Year 3 and it’s always a pleasure to see how they grow into confident and responsible young adults as they leave our care at Year 11. We take pride in our transition work to ensure that each young person continues to progress and learn following their time at Pennine View.
Pupils at Pennine View School are given the very best support to ensure that they gain the most from the educational experiences offered. Pennine View staff work in partnership with families and the wider professional community to achieve aspirational goals. This creates a personalised pathway which is fun, challenging and purposeful.
Our website will provide you with a valuable insight into everyday life within the school, additional activities and special events that highlight our work – we hope you’ll explore and enjoy!
